Skip location
Once your skip has been delivered it shouldn’t be moved and is your responsibility until it’s been collected. This includes any fines incurred due to placement, damage or loss.
Your skip should be in a place that’s accessible for a skip lorry for delivery and collection and clear from obstruction – if the skip supplier can’t deliver or collect or has to wait then additional charges may apply.
Private property
If you want to put your skip on private property, make sure there’s room for it before you order it. The skip hire company is not liable for any damage to private property that might be caused.
Public highway
If you want to put your skip on a public highway, you need to tell us so we can apply for a permit for you. You’re responsible for paying the permit fee, even if it’s declined. All skips placed on a public highway must meet certain criteria explained in the permit – if they don’t then you and not the skip hire company will be liable for any subsequent action.
Skip use
To make sure your skip is accepted and you don’t incur any further charges, ensure you:
- Only put permitted waste types in it
- Unless agreed, don’t mix waste types
- Never try to burn items in a skip – you’ll only write it off
- Level-fill the skip – don’t overfill it
